Linda Dianne (Matthews) Rouse died in faith April 2, 2013. She was born in Detroit, Michigan March 10, 1936.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edith and Laurence J. Matthews; son, Todd David Rouse; brother, Rodman J. Matthews, and granddaughter Cassandra Rouse. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Dale Rouse; son, Terry Dale (Marion) Rouse; daughters, Terria Dianne Davisson and Tarwyn Dee Rouse (Brian Corden); grandchildren, Mickey Watters, Dixie Davisson, Chad Rouse, Skyler Trevino; step-grandchild, Cherie Corden; sister-in-law, Janet Matthews;
nieces, Karyn and Kris Matthews; nephew, Kirk Matthews, and four great grandchildren.
Linda retired from the Michigan Education Association in 1994. She was an Executive Secretary for 24 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Leslie. She sang solos and was in the choir. She loved golf and bowling. She was in leagues at Mason, Allstar, Royal Scott, and Holt lanes.
She was a member of Mason Hills golf course and played in leagues at Prairie Creek, Wheatfield, and Four Winds. She was known as the "Coordinated Lady," as all of her golf outfit colors matched from head-to-toe. She was loved, admired, and respected by many whose lives she touched and influenced for her always-uplifting demeanor. She was a very special, generous and giving person. She gave blood on a regular basis, contributed money to Family Life Radio, many Veterans’ organizations, as well as local charities.
Her smile will be greatly missed by her family and friends. The family wishes to thank all of the wonderful people of Great Lakes Caring Hospice that took care of Linda. Any donations made to them in Linda’s name would be greatly appreciated at 900 Cooper Street, Jackson, MI 49202.
