His love and dedication to his wife, Carol, and children Karen, Denise and Dan along with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren were unsurpassed. He was the rock of the family providing quiet leadership as he served as a role model, mentor and hero - living life with practical common sense, acceptance and love for all.
Larry had a relentless can-do spirit for just about anything, especially if it required assembly! There was simply nothing he could not build, fix or accomplish. He worked his entire career as a mechanical engineer designing vane pumps with numerous patents to his name for Vickers - Eaton Corp.
He was always there for family and friends going above and beyond countless times to support his children and their families, as well as volunteering to help those he did not know. Mom and dad delivered meals on wheels, served for many years on the Troy Kensington Church traffic team - and volunteered for Rebuilding Together.
Burial has been set for 12:30 pm Monday, June 17 at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly.
Surviving are his wife, Carol; daughters, Denise (Jeff) Johnson and Karen Dean; son, Dan (Cathy) Dean; brother, John (Tom) Dean; sister, Barbara Hight; sister-in-law, Carla (Don) Fulton; grandchildren, Kevin (Jordan) Dean and their daughter, Sage, Hannah Brookhart, Summer Dean, Maddy Dean, Joshua Dean, Heather Dean, Joy (Dave) Bilbey, Jayna (Brad) Pyke, and Jeremy Johnson.
