Kenneth was born to John and Elma Robertson on July 31st 1943 in Marquette Michigan and died Friday November 26th, at the age of 67 with his wife and son at his side. He graduated from John D. Pierce High School in Marquette and was a team member on the 1961 State High School Basketball Championship team. He earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Northern Michigan University. Ken taught accounting, business and history at Fowlerville High School, Middle school and community education. In addition he coached chess and taught driver education. He enjoyed meeting members of his family as he researched his genealogy and also volunteered as a Sparrow Hospital Cardiac Ambassador. Ken stayed active with friends and family as he battled heart disease for many years. He enjoyed lifelong learning and sharing knowledge with others.
He was preceded in death by his father.
He is survived by his wife Kristine, son John Kenneth, daughter Kathleen (Craig) Robertson Shaffer, his newborn grandson Cooper Kenneth Shaffer born November 19th, 2010, mother Elma, brother Ronald (Gail) and sister Helen(Weldon) Olson.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 2, 2010 at St Luke Lutheran Church, 5589 Van Atta Rd, Haslett MI with Rev. David A. Davis officiating. The family will receive visitors at the church on Thursday beginning at 9:30 AM.
