Karen Brown was born July 18, 1948, in Charleroi, PA. Karen was a special education para-professional for Okemos schools from 1986-2006. Karen touched many student's lives with her giving nature. No matter where Karen went, she never met a stranger. Her passions included cooking, feeding others, and the giving of her time.
She is survived by her loving husband, Rick Brown of 49 years. They enjoyed camping, golfing, going to the movies, and spending time with their grandchildren and family. They are huge Pittsburgh Steeler's fans, and all things MSU. Leaving to cherish her memory are her daughter, Jackie Plascencia (Randy) and son, Rick Brown II (Sue). She was their best friend and confidant. "Meme" as they called her, loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren, Chelsea, Kaitlyn, Eric, Scott, Sophia, and Isaiah. She took them on vacations, to football games, the park, took them shopping, countless arts & crafts projects; anything they wanted to do, she made it happen for them.
