Jerome McPhail Roberts, "Jerry", of East Lansing, Michigan; passed away peacefully December 26, 2021 at the age of 51. He was born May 29, 1970 in Goodrich, Michigan to James & Christine (McPhail) Roberts. Jerry was a 1988 graduate of Brandon High School. In pursuit of his love of aviation, he served in the United States Air Force from 1989-1992, where he was crew chief of the B-1 bomber during Desert Storm. He then went on to work at General Motors, where he was employed for over 20 years.
Jerry had a love for animals, which began as a young boy growing up on the farm and participating in the Oakland County 4-H fair, where he achieved great success in the poultry barn. He loved the great outdoors, farming, and especially fishing. Jerry loved escaping to Halfway Lake in the U.P. where he was able to spend quality time with his children, Cameron & Danielle, whom he adored. He loved sour candy, board/video games, horror movies, and Stephen King. Jerry will be remembered for his smile, which could light up the room; his humor, love for his family, and those shoulder massages.
He is survived by his children, Cameron & Danielle Roberts; their mother, Tracie Roberts-Carney; & step-son Josh Cornelius; his father, James Roberts; his brothers, Dale Roberts & Andrew (Jessica) Roberts; aunt Carole Shelman; uncle Larry (Gina) McPhail; nieces, nephews, & cousins. He is preceded in death by his mother, Christine Roberts; & the love of his life, Robin (Snyder) Roberts.
The family will be receiving visitors 4:00- 8:00 PM Monday, January 3, 2022 at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, 1730 E. Grand River Ave., East Lansing, Michigan.
