Jack Bower, 81, of Bath, passed away peacefully and surrounded by his family on May 11, 2017. Jack was first and foremost a caring family man. He was a loving husband of 60 years to Marie, a kind and gentle father of six, and the patriarch of three generations of extended family. Throughout his career, he cultivated friendships as readily as his land. He was a generous man, quietly offering his talents in service to the community. He proudly served his country for two years in the U.S. Army. In recent years, he found joy carving in his woodshop, creating pieces to give to others. He had a deep appreciation for family, friends, and neighbors who touched his life with their kindness.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Dorothy; his daughter, Mary Jo; and his sister, Marilyn.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 16, 11:00 a.m., St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 955 Alton Road, East Lansing, with Fr. Jerry Ploof officiating. The family will receive friends Monday, 6-8 p.m., Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 1730 East Grand River Avenue, East Lansing.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice House of Mid-Michigan, P. O. Box 30480, Lansing, MI 48909 or Lansing Catholic High School Vision 20/20 Campaign, 501 North Marshall Street, Lansing, MI 48912.
