Eloise P. Mahoney entered eternal life on April 13, 2017, after 99 years of life. She is the widow of Richard C. Mahoney and loving companion of Charles E. Fritz. Eloise is the daughter of Mayme and Donald Davis, half-sister of the late Ruthie Shelton, Patricia Brown, and surviving Donna Bolton. She is cherished by her two daughters, Judith (Donald) Damaske, Sharon (Thomas) Altmann and son Rich (Portia) Mahoney; six grandchildren, Cindy Colwell, Rich (Kathy) Colwell, Judy Colwell, Bill (Lubna) Colwell, Jim (Susana) Colwell, Tracy Mahoney, and 12 great- grandchildren.
Eloise had a full life of nurturing her family, volunteering for 20 years for the American Red Cross in Livonia, spending winters in Florida with her husband of 59 years, rooting for her beloved Detroit Tigers, and traveling in later life with Charlie. Her interest and research into genealogy led to membership in the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 18, at Ascension Lutheran Church, 2780 Haslett Rd., East Lansing. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Entombment is at Mount Hope Memorial Gardens in Livonia, MI. Eloise left a penned note saying, “The American Red Cross and Salvation Army came through at a time in my life when their help was greatly appreciated. I would like to think friends and family might like to make donations to these organizations on my behalf.”
