Dorothy Ruth Clark, adoring mother, sister, aunt, daughter and worlds greatest grandmother, born on January 7, 1926, moved on to a better place February 4, 2011, to join and celebrate with numerous family, loved ones and friends.
Dorothy was paid tribute to on March 29, 1995 by the Michigan State Legislature in recognition of her twenty-eight years of dedicated service to the people of Michigan. On that date, Dorothy retired from her position as Executive Secretary to the Manager and Personnel Administrator of the Accident Fund. Dorothy was saluted by the State of Michigan for her highly productive and effective career. Dorothy's ability to handle complex and demanding tasks in combination with her dependability and high organizational skills made her heavily relied upon during her entire career with the Accident Fund.
As a graduate of Hamtramck High School, Dorothy began working for the Fifth Army as a clerk-stenographer in the Federal Building in Detroit Michigan. During World War II, Dorothy supported the war effort through her work with confidential and classified documents. Dorothy went on to a number of positions with significant responsibility including as a member of the Army's 60th MP Criminal Investigation Detachment in California and with the 430th Counter Intelligence Detachment in Salzburg Austria. Dorothy was also employed by the U. S. Department of Labor prior to joining the Accident Fund.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her beloved son William J. Clark; Parents Ignatz and Veronica (Jasinski) Stepek; Brothers William J. (Ethelmae) Stepek, Stanley J. (Helen) Stepek and Frank T. (Agnes) Stepek; Sisters Rose Stepek, Josephine M. (Walter) Collins, Marie E. (Frank) Koslosky and Leona V. (Samuel) Bamford. Dorothy is survived by her son Gary (Brenda) Clark, Grandson Bradlee R. Clark and Granddaughter Alexis D. Clark.
Cremation has taken place.
