Diane passed to her eternal reward at home on December 27, 2012, at the age of 72.
Born in Detroit, Michigan to Daniel A. Bieke, Jr. and Susan “Sylvia” McPhail on December 9, 1940, Diane was a devoted wife, loving mother and doting grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister and two brothers, and leaves a sister and two brothers to mourn her passing, along with a host of nieces and nephews.
She was an accomplished and welcoming homemaker who made good friends easily. A member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church for over 42 years, Diane was a woman of deep faith and firm convictions whose beautiful blue eyes could spit fire if you crossed her or her children. She was a strong Pro-Life advocate, and devoted many years to both local and statewide activism in pursuit of protection for the unborn, until ill health forced her to give up that mission, but never the cause.
Married in Detroit, MI on November 26, 1960, she is survived by her grateful and loving husband of 52 years, Francis X. Goeddeke. Also surviving are sons, Francis X., Jr., Ph.D. currently of Ulaan Bataar, Mongolia with the Peace Corps, Steven D. (Michelle) of Midland, MI; favorite daughter, Jill M.
