Cynthia R. Gaines

Cynthia Rose Gaines, 75, of East Lansing, Michigan, passed away on May 20, 2024, in Lansing, Michigan. She was born on August 11, 1948, to Rose Eve Scesny and Edward Gordon. Cindy was a giving, happy-go-lucky and fun-loving individual.

Cindy is survived by her children, Carly (Maceo) Cosper and Cale Gaines and her grandchildren, Marceleno, Rosiana, Tessa, and Grace. She is also survived by her brother, Rick Gordon and sister, Geri (Darryl) Johnson.

Cindy graduated from Southgate High School and went on to earn her Bachelors of Fine Arts at Michigan State University. Her career saw her as a letter carrier, a paraprofessional, a mother, and grandmother, which she treasured. She retired from East Lansing Public Schools.

She enjoyed art, camping, all things Margaritaville and spending time with her beloved dog, Piper, and friends and family. Contributions in her memory can be made to the Capital Area Humane Society in honor of Piper and all the dogs of her life- Sunnie, Laddie, Bunkie and GiGi, Dakota, Mercedes, Chloe, Gretel, Blue and Hannah.

Cynthia Gaines will be deeply missed by all who were involved in her life.

A private luncheon was held in her honor for family and friends.
