Candyce "Candy" Marie Gordon

Candyce Marie Gordon, 65, of Laingsburg, Michigan, passed away December 29, 2014. Candy was born December 17, 1949 in Lansing, Michigan, to Alton and Frances Timmer. She graduated from Central Michigan University in 1972 and went on to complete a Masters Degree in Education at Michigan State University. In 1979, Candy met the love of her life, Richard. They were married August 13, 1983 and lived in East Lansing, and later moved to Laingsburg. She was an elementary school teacher in the Laingsburg School System from 1972 until her retirement in 2002. Candy loved spending time with her family. In her spare time she enjoyed reading, doing cross word puzzles, pontoon rides, and dancing. She also liked to downhill ski in Traverse City and Petosky. Candy traveled extensively in Arizona, Hawaii, Florida, Bermuda, and Western Europe.

She was preceded in death by her father in 1979. Surviving to cherish Candy’s memory are her husband, Richard; mother, Frances Timmer; brothers, Bill (Debbie), Mike (Mary), Tom (Ann), Jim; sister, Carol (Rich) DeLeon,; sisters-in-law, Geri (Darryl) Johnson, Cindy Gordon; numerous nieces and nephews; and her cat, Gracie.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, East Lansing. The family will receive friends and relatives at the funeral home on Friday, January 2, 2015 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and from 6:00 from 8:00 pm, and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Entombment will be at East Lawn Memory Gardens in Okemos. Those desiring may make contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association of Michigan, 310 N.
