Bruce H. Everett born May 13, 1955; died December 17, 2021. Oldest son of Bruce Ray and Virginia Everett and brother of Jack (Diane) Everett of Grand Blanc. Bruce enjoyed a 40-plus year career at General Motors and the Catholic Diocese of Lansing as an accountant. He made a lot of friends at work, through golf, and had many long term friends dating back to his high school days that he kept in contact with over the years. Bruce was married to Mary Grace Everett for 43 years, since September 30, 1978, and welcomed three children and three grandchildren, who lovingly called him “Pips”, into the family. Daughters Amanda (William) Cartter of Williamston, Melanie (Matthew) Berger of Webberville, and son Joel (Karen) Everett of East Lansing; grandchildren Natalie and Bridgett Cartter, and Joseph Berger.
Bruce spent his free time golfing with family and friends, traveling to Florida with Mary Grace in the winter, having family card nights, watching his kids grow up playing sports, and reading to his grandkids. He also enjoyed practicing his Catholic faith and was active in the Knights of Columbus for many years. He liked to live his life with levity and humor and was never afraid to throw out a dad joke. When you’re laying in your casket, and people are saying nice things about you (good father, funny guy, nice to be around), I’d like to hear them say, “He’s moving!”.
Bruce battled some health issues over the past few years including stage 5 kidney disease, which caused the development of cancer in both kidneys. This latest fight with an intestinal malignant bleeding mass was just too much for his body to take.
