Uncle Bob was a mentor to many and a friend to all. If you were in the room with him you couldn't help but be entertained. He was always willing to offer support with his hands, his heart, or his wisdom.
Bob was born on June 5th, 1966 to Chet and Lee Myren. He graduated from Clawson High School in 1984. He was voted to have the best laugh, which all who knew him would agree! He furthered his education at Central Michigan University. Fire up Chips!
In the summer of 1988, he became the recreational director at the Tawas Bay Holiday Inn. Not only did he meet the love of his life, but he left a permanent footprint on the bay in East Tawas. Bikini’s Bar and Grill was born from a drawing on a napkin (which is where all the best ideas were developed according to Bob).
Bob entered into wedded bliss with his “lovely bride”, Colleen Phillips, on October 17, 1992. He and his “love muffin” moved to Okemos before camping out in Laingsburg for 20 years and then on to East Lansing. Bob was Colleen’s rock and foundation for over 34 years. He was always her biggest fan and always will be.
Bob gave his whole self to any project that he tackled. He found his passion in the construction trade. He was both a project manager and entrepreneur with Goodrich Builders, Rock Solid Management, and NHI.
Along with Colleen, Bob left behind his biological siblings, Jim (Sharisse) Myren and Amy Saulnier; his siblings-through-love, Linda Phillips, Maureen (Keith) Ferguson, Michael (Christine) Phillips, Alice (Wayne) Thelen, and Sarah (Bret) Davis; and the joys of his life who were his nieces and nephews, Lauren, Delainey, Parker, Bailey, Mia, Logan, Abby, Libby, Mason, Raegan, Reese, and Rylan; and his entire “circle of trust”. He was predeceased by his parents; his brother-in-law, Blair Saulnier; and his 4 legged friends, Harley, Rush, and Judge.
Memorial contributions can be made in Bob’s honor to the Ronald McDonald House of Mid-Michigan, 121 S Holmes St., Lansing, Michigan 48912.
