Bob is so worthy of continued celebration. I have never had person impact my life so much even through out the year after his untimely passing.  Something of Bob comes into my daily life. In fact this week I was following a pick up truck and something fell out the back. I remember Bob saying “if it falls out the back of a truck it was simply not meant to be”! I doubt I was the only person who heard Bob say this or something else that brought a smile to my face and heart. Headed to church to celebrate Bob!!

Bob was one of a kind! I remember first hearing Colleen talk about Bob after she first met him. Colleen is such a special friend, we were roommates in college for only a semester but I got a life long friend! This was one of our trips to visit Colleen and Bob in Charlevoix. These are from my scrapbook. All my love and prayers to Colleen in these difficult days ahead. ❤️

Steve and I have such fun and fond memories of Bob. We are so sorry for your incredible loss. Prayers for strength during this most difficult time.



Something Bob always “suggested” to me…when I was not

Words cannot express life with my friend Bob. He was the gold standard for being a dedicated friend. He was always there whenever or whatever the circumstances. Bob was a man of action be it to help someone or to have fun. He was an exceptionally hard worker whether on his own or in a larger company. He always wanted the best be it from himself, others or those with whom he worked or served. And yet he was forgiving knowing few of us could always achieve the best. Bob was an encourager. He shared his life and heart in unselfish ways. I knew I could always count on Bob. I always appreciated his calls and time with him. He knew how to live live. 

I know he is in heaven, probably renovating the many rooms in the mansion God has prepared. And, I am sure he is having fun while encouraging others on their journey whatever that might be. I believe in angels (they have come to my earthly aide many times) and I hope Bob is assigned (however that works) to me. Our Lord knows I could continue to use Bob’s help. I also hope his bodily restoration of knee’s and heart is complete (as it says in the Bible) since when I join him I plan to make good on his commitment to take up surfing, sailing and more with me again. 

Bob was a tremendous guy to be around and he kept us laughing all the time.  He will be missed at deer camp . Blessings upon Bob and his family and may God’s  comfort and peace be felt by all who grieve his untimely passing.

Bob was such an integral part of the success in our business.  We were looking for a key supervisor and I remember telling Chris that the first guy that walked through the door and took his shoes off  would be the person we would hire.  In walked Bob and our life was changed. He was indelibly woven into our lives on a business and personal level.  His joy every day, humour and inventive ways of solving problems made working fun.  But more than business, Bob and Colleen became part of our lives and we were blessed to be included in so many fun times.  He will be keenly missed by so many whose lives have been enhanced by his unfaltering friendship.  My dad always had a saying that is appropriate……They broke the mold when God made Bob.  He was one in a million to  his soul mate Colleen, family, friends and the everyday man.  He will be sorely missed in this world, but making another world much brighter.  Love to everyone that shares in this grief.

We are shocked and saddened to hear that “Pirate Bob” (as he was always known in Hemingway Unit #34) had passed away - a light extinguished far too early!  His humor, laughter, smile and kind heart will be sorely missed.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time and we will forever cherish our memories of him and smile.


Bob was a fantastic neighbor! He always offered to help if you needed it. He refused money, but loved being paid back with homemade cookies. We were so blessed to know him and will miss him. Our hearts and prayers go out to Colleen and the families. Sincere condolences,

Hot tub happy hour lasted a little long! Such great memories. No one could make me laugh the way he could! I thank God for putting him in our lives.

My last photo of my brother-in-law Bob shows his immense joy for life and his bride’s infinite love for him.  I will miss his antics and his generosity for family.  But most of all I am sorry for his wife Colleen, his brother, my husband Jim, his sister Amy, and all the nieces and nephews he so loved, including those he made feel like family. 

Colleen, I've got some big hugs for you.  Bob you had a way of making every one you spent time with, feel like they were your best friend.  I'm going to miss you like you'll never know, but I'm sure when I get up there you'll have a bottle of the finest Bourbon in one hand, unscrew the top and toss it, because we won't need that again, and two coffee mugs  in the other, that we will fill until it's gone, and I can't wait!  Love ya Brother!

He was a hell of a lefsa turner. All business, he was. Uf da, he has gone too soon. 

To the Brother I never had,

Well Bro, Mary and I can’t make sense of this.  The only thing we can come up with is that God’s planning to renovate heaven and needs to be entertained during the process.   Looks like he hit the lottery.  Just hope he knows you don’t come cheap.

Mary and I will miss you, Bob.  Thankfully we have hundreds of awesome memories.  Whether it’s the memory of redesigning our condo on the back of a napkin, or the memory of retrieving my boat with your trusty sidearm, or the numerous memories of our midnight balcony bourbon trifecta completions (later upgraded to The Grand Slam), you’ll be with us forever.

First, I am so sorry for your loss.  I knew Bob way back before he even started school.  My family and the Myrens were neighbors.  I was the safety on Lincoln, not far from his house, and he'd visit me, while I was on patrol and make me smile, I'm smiling this very instant as I think of him, and viewed the posted pictures.  I remember well, little Bobby Myren, his beautiful red curly hair and always something funny to say, he was adorable and from the pictures it seems he remained that way, laughing and having fun.  I will always smile when I think of him.  I did know him also later on, when I was no longer the safety, through my brother, Pete, they were always good friends.  
Again I am so sorry for your loss and I'm pretty sure Heavens a lot brighter since he arrived.     Patti Pouget Back
