Alex was born April 20th, 1985 in Detroit, Michigan at Mt. Sinai Hospital, the first child of Tamara Lynn and Todd Steven Bedenis.
Alex cherished his family above all else. His girls, Eleanor, June, Faye and Melodee, were his world and being a father gave him a purpose that he had no reservations talking about at length. Alex’s charisma, energy and kindness drew everyone he met towards him, and this will live on in the people he knew and loved.
Alex was always ready to play a game of boggle or chess, but he was never above some light cheating if he thought he could get away with it. He had a deep passion for music, dirt biking, and was always up for lighting something on fire. Alex found a love for his work in heating and cooling and he was finding success in managing his own business, where his intuitive abilities in repair and sales shone. Alex’s excitement for even the smallest activity was infectious. His enthusiasm mixed with genuine love for those around him meant that even a mundane task with Alex could easily become a lifelong memory.
Alex is survived by his loving partner, Melodee Babcock and their three daughters, Eleanor, June and Faye Bedenis (Okemos, MI). He leaves behind his parents, Tamara Bedenis (Fenton, MI) and Todd Bedenis (Dearborn, MI); his sister, Rachel Forster and her two children, Johannes and Iona Forster (Bergen, Norway); as well as his grandparents, Joann and Ken Watson (Brighton, MI).
There will be open visitation on Friday, July 21, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home East Chapel, 1730 E Grand River Ave., East Lansing, MI 48823. In the spirit of who Alex was, there will be a celebration of his life on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at 5.30 PM at Block Brewing Company, 1140 S Michigan Ave., Howell, MI 48843.
