William "Bill" James Jewell, 73, of Glastonbury CT, beloved husband to Althea Jewell of 46 years, passed away Friday November 27th 2015. He was born February 13th, 1942 in Manchester, the son of Samuel and Violet Jewell of Bolton. Before retirement, Bill was the former part-owner and manager of Glastonbury Gauge, and served time in the Army Reserves. Bill is predeceased by his parents, his brother Milton, daughter Robin, and his treasured dog Fenway. He is survived by his wife Althea, children Kenny and his wife Ginger Jewell, Tracy and her husband Troy Stout, Jody and her husband David Poulin, his grandchildren Kylee, Samuel, Jessie, Shelby, Jake, Abby, Mackenzie, Lexi, Jessica, Ryan, and his great grandchildren Hailey, Trevor, Eliana, and was expecting a fourth great granddaughter Robin Alexandra. He was also survived by the special extended family of Melinda Gallery, and Avery and Ashley Martin. Bill was an avid fan of UCONN Women's Basketball and was a cherished fixture at Glastonbury Parks and Recreation softball games. He also took pride in coaching his children's sports teams. Bill loved to fish and watch sports, but loved nothing more than his family. A period of visitation will be held at the Glastonbury Funeral Home, 450 New London Tnpk., Glastonbury CT 06033, on Thursday, December 3rd from 4-6pm.
