Victor Joseph Dube, 99, of East Hartford, CT entered eternal rest on Thursday, January 14, 2021. He was born in St. Cyprian, Providence of Quebec Canada. The son of the late Firmin O. and Florilda M. (Russell) Dube. He came to East Hartford, CT in 1930 and attended St. Mary’s Church, St. Mary’s School and East Hartford High School. Upon graduation, he went to work for Finest Stores in the shipping and receiving department for thirty-three years. Victor then went to work for Aetna Life and Casualty in the office planning department until he retired at the age of seventy-five. He also worked at East Hartford Hospital as an L.P.N after graduating from the Chicago School of Nursing. Victor received the Medal of Honor from Bishop Henry Mansell. Victor’s devotion to his faith and church lead him to the calling of becoming a Eucharistic Minister at St. Mary’s Church since 1983, which allowed him to bring the Blessed Sacrament of Holy Communion to shut in’s. Victor enjoyed traveling. He took many trips to Europe visiting; the Vatican in Rome, Florence, Venice, Pisa touring all of Italy. He also traveled to Switzerland, Germany, Paris, France, Belgium, Ireland, the Holy Land, Mexico, St. Annie De Beaupre Canada and many States across the United States. Victor leaves behind nephew Richard Rosenberg, two wonderful nieces Laurie Beley, Joan Szemreylo and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers; Andre Joseph Dube and Lucien Joseph Dube seven sisters; Bernadette Zenuik, Simone Rosenberg, Annette Robichaud, Lucienne Barbrick, Lucille Zawacki, Rita Barrett and Rita M. Dube four nephews; John Zenuck, Raymond Robichaud, Alex Maldonado and Peter Beley, five nieces; Nancy Beley, Shirley Michuad, Lynn Malloy, Shirley Lyman, and Paula Pentz. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday January 29, 2021 at 10:30am at St. Mary's Church 15 Maplewood Ave. East Hartford, CT 06108 Committal immediately following at St. Mary's Cemetery in East Hartford.
