Robert “Butch” T. Kerr, Jr., 80, of East Hartford, loving husband of 14 years of Anne Marie (Levere) Pressamarita Kerr, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 6, 2023. Born in Hartford on July 20, 1942 he had been a lifelong resident of the Glastonbury/East Hartford area. Butch was a graduate of Glastonbury High School and a proud veteran of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Prior to his retirement, Butch was employed by Hamilton Standard in Windsor Locks for 43 years when he retired as a foreman. He was a member of the RPMC in Waterbury and enjoyed NASCAR, Hot Rod Racing, and riding his motorcycle across the country. Butch was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and liked customizing golf carts. Most of all, Butch enjoyed his retirement and was proud of all of his accomplishments and will be remembered by most as a very generous and caring gentleman to everyone he met.
Besides his wife, Butch is survived by his five children, Amber Radkovich and her husband Steve and their two sons Austin and Carson of Enfield; Brandi Kerr and her four sons, Kameron, Jordan, Jaxon, and Kason of Enfield; Sarah Freeman and her husband JR and their children, Laylani (his only granddaughter and twinkle of his eye who had a very special place in Butch’s heart) and Carmelo of East Hartford; Lynn Kerr of Middletown and her husband Tom Oeschger and their son Sam, daughter Mallory and her fiancé Sam Sokolowski, Dustin Kerr and his son Camden of East Hartford. He also leaves a step-brother, Kim Kerr of East Hartford; three cherished friends, Bart, Vinney, and Don. He was predeceased by his mother, Angeline (Quagliaroli) Ecceleston and her husband Clifford Ecceleston who was the father that raised him; and a son, Joseph “Joey” Pressamarita of East Hartford.
Butch’s family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday (July 19, 2023) from 4-6 pm at the D’Esopo East Harford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford. Private funeral and burial with military honors will be at the convenience of the family at St. Augustine Cemetery, South Glastonbury.
