Richard Mazzarella

Richard ""Butch"" P. Mazzarella, 75, of Palm Coast, FL, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 26, 2017. Butch was born on October 19, 1941 in Hartford, to the late Richard and Catherine (Batty) Mazzarella Sr. He worked as a Firefighter for the East Hartford Fire Department and retired in 1984. Butch moved to Palm Coast, FL, in 2009 from East Hartford. His hobbies included his motorcycle, spending time with his great grandchildren and riding with the Knights of the Inferno Club. Butch is survived by his wife of 54 years Ancela (Rosa) Mazzarella of Palm Coast, FL: son, Thomas Mazzarella and his wife Shannon of Mansfield; daughter, Kathy Martin and her husband Anthony of East Windsor; sister, Rita Thompson of East Hartford; brother, Thomas Mazzarella and his wife Lucia of Wethersfield; granddaughter Nicole Martin and her fiancé Samuel Rodriguez; great grandchildren, Joel Rodriguez and Serena Rodriguez. Butch was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Stephanie Martin. Funeral service will be Saturday (August 5th) at 9:00 am from the D'Esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 am in St. Christopher campus of St. Edmund Campion Parish, 538 Brewer St., East Hartford. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery, (Section C), Hillside Street, East Hartford. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home chapel on Friday (August 4th) from 4-7 pm.
