Patricia Hazel (Forbes) Burgart

Patricia Hazel (Forbes) Burgart, 89, of Shrewsbury, MA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 25, 2015 after a brief illness. Patricia was the loving wife of 52 years to the late Harold F. Burgart. Born in Valparaiso, IN on January 14, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Michael R. and Theresa M. (Halligan) Forbes. Patricia was a proud home maker who was a talented interior decorator and artist who loved decorating for all of the holidays. She was an animal lover and sports enthusiast, especially of UCONN and the Boston sports teams. Patricia took great pride in being a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Patricia is survived by her son, Brian L. Burgart of Shrewsbury, MA with whom she made her home; her daughter, Pamela A. Oliva and her husband, Richard, of Vernon; two adored grandchildren, Courtney N. Oliva and Tyler R. Oliva both of Vernon; several nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Along with her beloved husband and parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Michael R. Forbes, Jr. of California. Funeral service will be Thursday (October 29th) with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 am at St. Bartholomew Church, 45 Ludlow Street, Manchester. (Everyone is asked to please go directly to the church on Thursday morning). Burial will follow at Ellington Center Cemetery, (Section 7), Maple Street, Ellington. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Patricia's name may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 101 Centerpoint Drive, Suite 107, Middletown, CT 06457 or to the American Cancer Society , 825 Brook Street, I-91 Tech Center, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
