

Muriel D. (Deno) “Gram” Cote, 88, beloved wife of Rene A. Cote, of South Glastonbury, passed away on Wednesday, August 8, 2012. Muriel was born in Bantam, CT., daughter of the late Charles F. and Lulu (Borthwick) Deno. She was a graduate of Litchfield High School and the College of William & Mary in Richmond, VA. Upon completing college she pursued her career in VT and CT. She was assistant director of Camp Tel-A-Wolket in VT., set director & technical director at the Summer Stock Theater, Middlebury, VT. & the Mark Twain Masquers, Hartford, CT., assistant director of the display department for G. Fox Dept. Store, Hartford, CT., and an assistant librarian at the Hartford Public Library. She married Rene on July 25, 1953 in Hartford and her focus became her family, raising 4 children. During this time she was an assistant seeder, a job she loved, for Armando’s Wassuc Heights Farm in Colchester, CT.
She will be dearly missed by; her son, Robert C. Cote and his wife Carol Bielenda of Ashford, CT, her two daughters, Suzanne Cote Baker and husband Scott of Clinton, CT and Charlton, MA formerly of Tolland, CT and Jennifer Cote-Armando and husband Peter of Colchester, CT. Her treasured grandchildren: Miranda B. Ganzer of Brooklyn, NY, Jessica G. Albino and her husband Nicholas of Windsor, CT and Michael Justo of Colchester, CT who is currently serving in Afghanistan, step granddaughters; Alyssa B. MacPherson and her husband Andrew of Framingham, MA and Stacey B. Roberts and her husband Michael of Millbury, MA, a great granddaughter Stella MacPherson and several nieces and nephews. Muriel was predeceased by a daughter, Christine L. Cote, a brother, Charles Deno and sister Louella Deno Peters.
A celebration of remembrance for Muriel “Gram” will be held August 18, 2012 from 4pm to 7pm at the Glastonbury Funeral Home. Burial services will be private at a later date.
