Milton S. Knight, 90, of Homestead Ave., Hartford, husband of Geraldine (Moore) Knight, died peacefully on Saturday (May 10, 2008), at Riverside Health and Rehabilitation Center in East Hartford with his family by his side. Born in Jamaica, son of the late Mr. Knight and Emma Jean Patterson, Milton has lived in Hartford for the past 37 years. He was employed in the construction trade for many years and then was employed at Bloomfield Bowling Center for 18 years prior to his retirement. Besides his devoted wife, to whom he was married for 55 years, Milton is survived by eight loving children; three sons, Milton S. Knight, Jr and his wife Tonya of Windsor, David G. Knight of Hartford and Alvin I. Knight and his wife Kathy of Manchester; five daughters, Mary Knight-Davenport and her husband David of East Hartford, Sylvia Robinson of Enterprise, AL, Collette Thicklen and her husband Lee of Clewiston, FL, Edlynn Knight-Boyce and her husband Tony of East Hartford and Christine Thomas and her husband Alex of Clewiston, FL; one sister, Emma Wellington of New York, NY; two sisters-in-law, Willymae Harrison of Orlando, FL and LettieMay Patterson of Pahokee, FL, 32 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Milton was predeceased by a son, Paul. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the D'Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter St, East Hartford, CT. Burial will be at Mount St. Benedict Cemetery in Bloomfield.
