Mary-Jane Viola Rivera

Mary-Jane was born in Hartford on March 25, 1951, daughter of the late Patrick A., Sr. and Viola (Lippo) Guida. She was well known in the Hartford area for her time spent as manager of Blue Bird Bridals, an expertise she enjoyed using throughout her life to help family and friends. Mary-Jane lived life to the fullest and enjoyed spending time with her beloved family and friends. She loved to travel, especially her yearly visits to Florida and the many cruises she enjoyed. She was a genuine person whose kindness and love had a lasting effect on everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Mary-Jane is survived by her daughter, Tina-Marie Rivera-Rowe and her husband Wil of East Hartford, her son John-Patrick Rivera, Sr. of Hartford, a sister Anna-Marie Stone of Florida, two brothers, Antonio Guida and his wife Linda of California and Patrick A. Guida, Jr. and his wife Nella of Connecticut, her grandchildren John-Patrick Jr., Isabella, Melody, Giovanni-Capone and Ginalyse-Rose, her best friend Debra Rambaran and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Besides her parents, Mary-Jane was predeceased by two sisters Regina Valdez and Patricia Meyers, a brother-in-law Thomas Stone, and her late husband Isabello “Johnny” Rivera.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00pm on Friday, September 15 at D’Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter St., East Hartford. Calling Hours will take place on Friday morning from 10:00am-12:00pm at the memorial chapel. Burial is private and at the convenience of the family.
