Louis C. Ruggiero, 93, of Glastonbury and formerly of Bloomfield, beloved husband of the late Rose (Miele) Ruggiero, passed away Saturday, (November 3, 2007). He was born June 25, 1914 in Hartford, the son of the late Carlo and Filomena (Farella) Ruggiero. Louis was employed by Royal Typewriter for 35 years and then worked for the Aetna Insurance Co. before his retirement in 1979. In his earlier years he worked as an iceman, an upholsterer, and a meat cutter. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Glastonbury Council for over 50 years and was a member of 4th Degree Knights of Columbus Bishop McMahon General Assembly. Louis is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, John L. and Donna R. Ruggiero of Glastonbury, Louis J. and Linda J. Ruggiero of Chapin, S.C. and William R. and Linda H. Ruggiero of Tolland; six grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He also leaves a brother, John Ruggiero of Enfield and three sisters: Molly Dellaripa of East Hartford, Rose Lowe of Manchester and Mary Rotundo of Rehoboth, MA. Funeral services will be Wednesday November 7th at 9 a.m. from the D'Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter St., East Hartford, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Paul's Church, Glastonbury.
