Linda Mary Carney, 70, of Vernon, passed away on December 22, 2018 at home. Linda was born February 21, 1948 in Hartford, a daughter of the late Robert Edward and Henrietta (Weisner) Polowitzer. She grew up in East Hartford on a farm on Goodwin St., East Hartford, CT.
Linda was a dedicated employee for the State of Connecticut Comptroller’s Office for over 30 years. She had an extremely hard work ethic and always had 2 or 3 jobs simultaneously. She will be remembered for her generous spirit, great sense of humor, huge smile and her loving nature. She enjoyed playing cards, a good game of cribbage, camping and all animals. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her cherished family.
Linda will be dearly missed by her brother Ed Polowitzer and his wife Sharon of Andover, their children, Luke Polowitzer of Andover, Julie Madsen and her husband Cameron of Utah and their children Harvey and Nora, sister Betty Hall and her husband Eddie Hall Sr. of Hartford, their children, Victoria Hall and her son Timothy; Eddie Hall Jr., and his sons, Jayzair, Jayceon, and Eddie III, and sister-in-law Delores Polowitzer of Florida.
She is predeceased by her parents, husband Carroll (Bobby) Carney, sister-in-law Nancy Polowitzer and brother Robert Edward Polowitzer.
All are welcome to attend a period of visitation on Friday, December 28, 9-11AM at the Glastonbury Funeral Home, 450 New London Tnpk., Glastonbury, CT. A Celebration of Linda's Life will commence immediately following at 11AM at the funeral home. Burial will conclude services in Holy Cross Cemetery, Glastonbury.
