Lillian Johnson, 97, passed away on Saturday, August 21, 2021. Lillian grew up in West Hartford, CT where she graduated Hall High School and later married her high school sweetheart, the late Douglas W. Johnson. They were married for 69 years. They retired to Daytona Beach Florida where they lived for 30 years. Lillian had a knack for growing African Violets (for which she won many awards), enjoyed knitting and baking, and was never known to have refused a bowl of ice cream. She was always caring for others and worked as a Hospice Volunteer and helped feed the homeless.
She is survived by her three daughters, Sandy Spencer, Connie Rusate (Joe), and Judy Bichun; her brother and sister-in-law Nancy and William Gaffin; her grandchildren who fondly referred to her as “Deeda”, Gary Putnam (Marcy), Virginia Washington (David), Traci Hazelton (Ian), Nikki Skura (Mark), and Jamie Bichun; and her great grandchildren Codey, Corrina and Kristen Washington, Devin Hazelton and Emma, Joseph and Francis Skura.
