Kevin Ortiz of Hartford, passed away September 2 at his residence. Kevin loved hiking and enjoying the outdoors with this five children, Kevin Xavier, Elijah, Keira, Carlos, and Jeremiah; as well as spending time with his extended family. His experience as a kickboxing trainer led him to participate in numerous tournaments, he also trained his children in kickboxing. Kevin was known as a hard worker and successful salesman for Soldiers Solutions, LLC based in Wallingford, CT which works to provide opportunities for veterans and veteran owned businesses in the community. Kevin also enjoyed gourmet food and cooking. Kevin is survived by his son, Kevin Xavier, currently serving in the Marines on base in North Carolina; son Elijah, of East Hartford; daughter, Keira, of Hartford; step-sons Carlos and Jeremiah Sanchez; and their mothers, Amy Bragdon and Pamela Mautino; father David and step-mother Damaris, of Manchester; mother, Miriam Febles, of Vernon; brother Marcos, of Brazil; step-brothers Carlos and Jose Marcano, of Chicago; and step-sister Priscila Marcano, of Manchester. Newkirk and Whitney Funeral Home is entrusted with Kevin’s arrangements. Calling hours will be held at Newkirk and Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave., East Hartford, CT, Saturday, September 7 from 6:00-10:00pm.
