Kenneth B. Grant, 88, of Manchester, died Tuesday October 26, 2010 at Parkway Pavilion in Enfield. He was born in Wethersfield, a son of the late Isaac H. and Florence W. (Jackson) Grant and was a graduate of Wethersfield High School. Kenneth was a Plaster Molder at New England Matchplate Co. for many years. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II. Ken was an ardent UConn women’s basketball fan, he enjoyed area church suppers, classical music concerts throughout the area and was very involved with his Cardiac Rehabilitation Support Group. He was predeceased by his wife Edna (Wickham) Grant. He is survived by several nieces and nephews, among them, Nancy Shields and her husband Peter Magrassi of Enfield and Cheryl Puchelt and her husband William of Belchertown, MA, Richard Grant of Taunton, MA and William Grant of New Mexico. A chapel service will be held on Friday October 29th at 1PM at the Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Avenue, East Hartford, with the Rev. Roberta Williams. Burial will follow in West Cemetery in Manchester. Visiting hours at the funeral home are Thursday from 6-8PM.
