Kenneth E. “Ken” Cyr, 68, of East Hartford, loving husband of 37 years of Linda M. (Tuccitto) Cyr, peacefully took his last ride with his caring family by his side on Monday, March 17, 2025 at his home. Born in Hartford on June 6, 1956, a son of the late Medley Joseph and Gloria M. (Peak) Cyr, he had been a resident of East Hartford for over 35 years. Prior to his retirement, Ken was a roofer for most of his adult life with area home improvement companies in the Greater Hartford area. He loved taking rides on his Harley Davidson motorcycle and tinkering around in his garage working on his Harley. He was also an avid gardener and took great pride in how his assorted vegetables and flowers were. Most of all, Ken was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who looked forward to riding over and visiting his grandchildren daily.
Along with his beloved wife Linda, Ken is survived by a daughter, Christine M. Card and her husband Brian of East Hartford; five special grandchildren, Jazlyn Murphy and her husband Jamahl of Vernon, Eric Card of East Hartford, Evan Card of Edmond, OK, Andrew Card of East Hartford, Alayna Card of East Hartford; and one adored great-grandson, Samuel Murphy of Vernon. He also leaves his best friend, Brian “Beef” Wade and his wife Kathy of Manchester; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Funeral service will be Friday evening (March 21st) at 5:30 pm at the D’Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford. Ken’s family will receive relatives and friends on Friday from 4 – 5:30 pm at the funeral home chapel. Private burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
