Cathy (Wyatt) Sullivan, 58, of Glastonbury, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, (June 4, 2012) at her home. Born in Spartanburg, SC on January 29, 1954, a daughter of E. Pauline (Lister) Wyatt Scaglia and the late David F. Wyatt, she had resided in East Hartford for most of her early years and graduated from East Hartford High School, Class of 1972. Most of Cathy's employment career was in the medical profession. She was a nurse anesthetist in the Tampa/St. Petersburg, FL area for many years prior to moving back to Connecticut in 2004. Cathy enjoyed traveling and loved cats. She always had more than one cat at her home and took great pride in volunteering for the Protectors of Animals to help other homeless cats. Besides her father, she was predeceased by a brother, David F. Wyatt of East Lyme and her step-father, John L. Scaglia of East Hartford. Cathy is survived by her mother, E. Pauline Wyatt Scaglia of East Hartford; a sister, Mary A. Johnson and her husband, Craig, of East Hartford; four beloved nieces and nephews, Kerry Becker of Glastonbury with whom she made her home, Tara Leigh Wyatt of East Lyme, Matthew Becker of Manchester, and Drew Johnson of East Hartford.
A memorial service celebrating Cathy's life will be Friday (June 8th) at 11:30 a.m. at the D'Esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford with the Rev. Roberta Williams officiating. Private burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home chapel on Friday morning from 10:30-11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Cathy's name may be made to Protectors of Animals, 144 Main Street, Unit O, East Hartford, CT 06118.
