Jeannine A. Michaud

Jeannine A. Michaud, 65 longtime resident of East Hartford passed away on Thursday (September 23, 2010) at Backus Hospital with her loving family at her side. She was born July 23, 1945 in Hartford daughter of the late Conrad and Albertine (Poitras) Albert. Jeannine and her siblings were raised in Hartford where she graduated from Bulkeley High School Class of 65'. She moved to East Hartford to raise her family and work as a baker for Shop Rite for over twenty three years retiring two months ago.

She loved bowling, traveling , was a avid UConn Huskie fan, and spending time at the casinos here in Connecticut with her friends. Above all she was a loving and devoted mother, sister and grandmother.

She is survived by her two children, Michelle Rataic and her husband Eric of East Hartford and Greg Michaud of Portland: a cherished grandson Joshua Michaud and another granddaughter on the way Jillian Rataic: six siblings Marguerite Gaudette of Tennessee, Pat Wadsworth and her husband Eddie of Connecticut, Kay Burns of Connecticut, Danny Albert and his wife Lois of Connecticut, Art Albert and his wife Ruth of Florida, and Connie Nichols and her husband Val of Florida: along with numerous nieces, nephews and special friends. Along with both her parents she was predeceased by a brother in law Gerry Gaudette.

Jeannine's family will be receiving relatives and friends on Wednesday (September 29, 2010) from 5-8 p.m. at the Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave., East Hartford. Funeral Services will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society , 538 Preston Ave., PO Box 1004, Meriden, CT 06450.
