Jean P. Lombard

Jean (Pacekonis) Lombard, 99, two weeks short of 100, entered into eternal rest on Friday, October 11, 2024 with her loving daughter by her side. Born on October 26, 1924 to the late Stanley and Mary (Vabolis) Pacekonis, in Hartford where she was raised. Jean then settled in East Hartford with her late husband, John J. Lombard, to raise a family and has resided there for the last 65 years. Prior to retirement, Jean was a secretary for Pratt and Whitney.

A devout catholic, Jean is a long time member of St. Christopher Church, East Hartford. She was also a member with the Women’s Club of Holy Trinity Church, Hartford. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, solving crossword puzzles and dancing. She also loved teaching senior exercise classes to various groups in the area. Most of all, Jean enjoyed being a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Jean is survived by her daughter Carole M. Lombard of East Hartford and daughter-in-law Amy Lombard of Lexington, KY. Three cherished grandchildren; Christopher Lombard, Abigail Lombard, and Zachary Lombard, and one adored great-granddaughter Hannah Lombard. Along with many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Jean is predeceased by her son Michael J. Lombard and three siblings; Adele Haiko, Sister Mary Irene OSF, and Bronislaw Pacekonis.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 18, 2024 at 10:30 am at St. Christopher Church of North American Martyrs Parish, 538 Brewer St. East Hartford. Relatives and friends may call at the church prior to the mass starting at 9:30 am. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery, East Hartford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jean’s name may be made to AID-A-PET, P.O.
