She was born on June 17, 1950, in Hartford, CT where she grew up and attended grammar and middle school, she later moved to Mayberry Village in East Hartford with her Mother and Brother. While attending East Hartford High School and working at Top Notch Foods as a Cashier, Janet met the love of her life Daniel Sr who was also born at Hartford Hospital in 1950 (2 days before on June 15). They both caught each other’s eye, became best friends and were soon inseparable. They later married in June of 1969, soon after that same year daughter Tracy Lyn was born while still living in East Hartford. Son Daniel was born in 1973 and the following spring the family moved to West Street in Bolton where they spent many great years growing up. The family lived there until 1982 when they moved to Ellington after building their log cabin home on the family farm, residing there for the next 42 years.
The family farm in Ellington was where Janet loved spending time the most growing up as a kid and teenager with her Grandparents Nels and Florence Carlson, riding her horse Mickey, swimming in the pond, enjoying and learning about farming. Janet always loved animals, birds and the outdoors, she was adventurous, enjoyed traveling and exploring nature. She was always happiest spending time with her family and close friends who she loved very much and building her home on her family farm was the perfect place. Her love for animals and wildlife allowed chipmunks and squirrels to eat peanuts right from her hand.
Janet’s interest for music brought her to many different concerts, shows and festivals over the years with her husband Daniel and many other family and friends.
Music always put a smile on her face and she especially loved classic, southern rock and her favorite band was always Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young.
Janet worked for People’s Bank in Rockville then Enfield, CT for over 20 years as a Teller, Customer Service Manager where she helped many, especially the elderly, with their banking needs. Everyone adored her at the bank especially because of her kind heart, incredible empathy, patience and positive outlook.
Janet lit up a room with her beauty inside and out, she made an impact on so many who were fortunate enough to know her, Janet will be desperately missed by all those she left behind but especially by her best friend, husband and life partner Daniel Sr. who she had many great years and so much fun with !
Janet is survived by her Husband of 55 years, Daniel Patrick Dagon Sr, her Daughter Tracy Lyn Dagon of East Hampton, her Son Daniel Patrick Dagon Jr of Ellington who love her more than words can ever describe, Granddaughters Natalie and Emily Dagon of Ellington, her Mother-in-law Lorraine Marie Dagon of Springfield, Georgia, many Sisters and Brothers-in-laws, Cousins and close Friends who all loved her dearly !

There will be no calling hours or service which was her choice but a Celebration of Janet’s life will be held at a later date, sometime in the fall because that was always her favorite time of year.
