James Richard Turner, 73, of East Windsor, passed away peacefully under the loving care of Masonicare Hospice Association on Monday evening May 8, 2017 after suffering a massive stroke on April 7, 2017. Jim was born on November 10, 1943 in East Windsor and resided most of his life in Suffield.
Jim was employed by Pratt & Whitney Aircraft for over 20 years and then turned his passion for restoring classic cars into a second career. Jim was predeceased by his wife of 45 years Judy Turner; his parents Walter and Mary Turner; brother Walter Turner Jr; and sister Barbara Hills.
Jim will be dearly missed by his daughter Lisa Doyle of Palmetto, FL, his son Steve Turner and his wife Kristin of Stallings, NC, and 4 grandchildren: James, Callee, Jacob, and Abbey.
Jim also leaves and will be missed by his loving partner Joyce Lindsay of East Windsor, his brothers John Turner of Keene, NH, and Richard Turner of San Antonio, TX, and his beloved BINGO family at St. Mary's and Blessed Sacrament Churches in East Hartford where he volunteered for many years.
Friends and family are invited to attend a brief calling hour on Saturday, May 13, 2017 from 1:00 - 2:00pm followed by a memorial service at 2:00pm at Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave, East Hartford, CT 06108. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Masonicare Hospice Association, 111 Founders Plaza, Suite 200, East Hartford, CT 06108.
