Irene Mary Rosa

Irene M. (Asselin) Rosa, 86, beloved wife of Ray Rosa, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 24th, with her husband by her side. She was born in Windsor Locks on July 20, 1928 to the late William and Irene (Cousineau) Asselin. Irene graduated from Hartford Hospital School of Nursing. She was employed by Hartford Hospital for many years. Irene was a devoted catholic who was a parishioner of St. Mary Church in Windsor Locks. She was active in the Autism Society. Irene enjoyed playing golf and was a member of the Suffield Country Club and Dunedin Country Club. She cherished time spent with family and will be most remembered for her dedication to her family.

In addition to her husband of 66 years, Irene is survived by her 4 sons, Jim and his wife Linda of Suffield, David and his wife Sofia of Saudi Arabia, Michael of Franklin, Ken and his wife Kerri of Wethersfield; her 2 daughters, Cathy England and her husband Troy of Bedford, TX and Nancy Willard and her husband Chuck of East Hartford; her 7 grandchildren, Stephanie Rosa, David Rosa, Nicole Rosa, Ryan Rosa and wife Katie, Danielle Lortie and husband Andrew, Zak Rosa, Samantha Rosa; her 3 great grandchildren, Lizzy, Colten, Lily Irene; her brother Robert Asselin and many extended family members. She was predeceased by her 3 brothers, Ray, Bill and Fred Asselin and her 2 grandchildren Danny and Ashley.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 27th, at 10AM, at St. Mary Church, 42 Spring St., Windsor Locks. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:15PM, in the main dining room, at Suffield by the River, 7 Canal Rd., Suffield.

In lieu of flowers, donation may be made in Irene’s memory to Alzheimer’s Association CT Chapter, 2075 Silas Deane Hwy #100
