Iana V. Maloney

Iana (Giupponi) Maloney, 88, of Glastonbury, beloved wife of the late Robert Maloney, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, May 7, 2023. Born in Cisterna, Italy on April 27, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Manlio and Livia Giupponi. Iana passionately surrounded herself working in her garden that resembled Italy. Iana was the most amazing cook and loved preparing her Italian dishes for her family and friends. She had a passion for fashion and was an unbelievable decorator. Iana traveled the world with the three languages she spoke, but her favorite vacation spot was Bermuda in which she had been there forty times.

A loving and devoted mother and grandmother, Iana will be forever and deeply missed by her loving and devoted daughter, Lea Ok of Glastonbury and the two loves of her life grandchildren, Eliana A. Ok and Erin L. Ok. She is also survived by her brother, Valerico Giupponi and wife Alice of Westerly, RI: her sister, Adelaide Hogan and husband Edward of Waterford; her former husband, Elio Tonon of East Longmeadow, MA and many other extended family members.

A Mass of Christian of Burial will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at 10 am at SS. Isidore & Maria Parish (St. Augustine Church), 55 Hopewell Road, South Glastonbury. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Glastonbury. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations in Iana’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
