Helen was born in 1924 in Hartford, Connecticut, the ninth of twelve children to the late Julian Niemczyk and Mary Kamienski. Helen was a resident of East Hartford for 53 years before moving to South Windsor. She was employed by Pratt and Whitney UTC for 25 years retiring in 1988. She was a devoted mother to her children and an adored Babci to her grandchildren and great granddaughter. She enjoyed bingo, knitting, baking and canning but will be remembered most of all for the love that she gave to her family. She was a communicant of St. Christopher Church in East Hartford for many years.
Helen will be deeply missed by her sons Wayne Kyc (Diane), Gary Kyc and Brian Kyc (Barbara) her grandchildren Kevin Kyc (Jenifer), Sharon Heaton (Kevin), Michael Kyc, Amanda Kyc (Vinny), Megan Cuda (Paul), Jeremy Kyc (Melissa), Brandon Kyc, her great granddaughter Sydney Kyc, sister-in-law Claire Greenberg and many special nieces and nephews.
Helen is predeceased by her loving husband of 42 years Chester Kyc, her beloved daughter-in-law Maura Kyc and her 7 brothers and 4 sisters.
The family would like to express their deep gratitude to her aides Sue, Betty and Attalah for all their loving care to Helen over the years.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Helena will be held Saturday, January 14, 2023 at 10:00 AM at St Christopher's Church, 538 Brewer St, East Hartford, CT 06118. Following the Mass of Christian Burial will be a Committal Service at 11:00 AM at Hillside Cemetery, Hillside Street, East Hartford, Connecticut 06108.
