Gilbert Leo Thibodeau, 83, Daytona Beach, FL, passed away Aug. 29, 2016. A MASH unit medic and U.S. Army veteran, he served a 33 month tour during the Korean War. He was born in Van Buren, ME, and raised in East Hartford, CT, with his brother, Michael, by parents Anne and Michael Thibodeau. Gil met the love of his life, Loretta, his "Dovey," whom he spent 61 blissful years of marriage together with. No matter what life threw his way, nothing was more important to him than her happiness and well-being. To the many friends and family he leaves behind, he was affectionately known as “Unc.” To Anita LaRoche, he was “Birdy,” a father to her who was by her side for every important moment, teaching her "not to sweat the small stuff," smile your way through it, be loyal to the ones you love, and always be thankful.
