Frank Arcuri, Jr., 85, of Glastonbury, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, February 8, 2023. Born in New Brunswick, New Jersey on October 6, 1937, he was the son of the late Frank Sr. and Sophie (Decarlo) Arcuri. Frank graduated from Mont Pleasant High School and served proudly in the U.S. Navy attending Aeronautics school as a Jet Engine Mechanic from 1956-1960. Upon Honorable discharge from the Navy he was employed at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft for eighteen years. During his employment at Pratt he attended Pratt School of Drafting and worked as a Draftsman until retirement in 1990. Frank also worked an additional nine years for Belcan Engineering until his final retirement in 2008. Frank was an avid golfer and fisherman. He enjoyed watching movies, spending time with family/friends and sharing recipes with his "Better than Brother” Ronnie Salafia (Cathy) in their daily phone calls.
Frank will be forever missed by his three children, Christine Abelin (Kris) of Southwick, MA, Scott Arcuri (Vi) of Clay Center, KS and Brian Arcuri (Maria) of Spring, TX and his six grandchildren Mark Abelin (Erica), Michael Abelin (Kerri), Michelle Arcuri, Paul Arcuri, Stacey Zurrel (Steven), Brian Arcuri and seventeen great grandchildren. In addition to cherish Frank’s memory he is survived by his fiancée Susan DeLusso and her children Heather DeLusso (Kyle), Wayne DeLusso and her granddaughter Marcella DeLusso-Jensen (Freyja), his beloved cat Rocky, as well as extended family and friends. Special thanks go out to Dr. Pawan Karanam, his amazing staff at the Smilow Cancer Center Glastonbury and the Masonicare Home Health and Hospice Care nurses.
Visitation will be held at D’Esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford on Tuesday February 14, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, February 15, at the D’Esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Dunstan Church, 1345 Manchester Road, Glastonbury. Burial with military honors will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Glastonbury. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Frank’s memory to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
