Edward C Waite

Edward C. Waite, 88, husband of the late Elfriede(Posselt) Waite passed away on Saturday June 8, 2024. He was born February 16, 1936 in Rutland, VT a son of the late Ernest and Alta(Young) Waite. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. Edward worked as a Steel distributor for Peter Frasse prior to retiring, was very active in the Willington Fire Department and a lifetime member of the VFW and American Legion.

He loved camping with his family and playing bingo with his wife and family.

Edward is survived by two daughters; Heide Waite of Manchester and Sharon Coutant of Ashford, two sons; David (Terri) Waite of Mansfield and Edward Waite Jr. of Kansas, 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. He also leaves his dog Mimi as well as a host of extended family and friends.

Relatives and friends may call at Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave., East Hartford, CT on Saturday, June 15 from 9-11am. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 11am.
