Diane Marie (DiCarlo) Warner, 73, of East Hartford, loving wife of 25 years of Walter Martin, peacefully entered into eternal life at her home on Sunday, April 2, 2023 with her beloved caring family by her side. Born in Meriden on June 18, 1949, a daughter of the late Xavier and Domenica (Elionfante) DiCarlo, she had been a resident of East Hartford for the past thirty years. Diane graduated from Lyman Hall High School in Wallingford, class of 1967 and earned her Associates degree from Quinnipiac University in Hamden. Prior to her retirement she was employed for 40 years as an area Insurance Claims Specialist.
A devout catholic, Diane was an active and faithful communicant of St. Christopher Church in East Hartford, where she was a member of the church Social Retiree’s Club. She was also a volunteer and coordinator for many years at the church food bank for the East Hartford Food Bank at South Congregational Church in East Hartford. For all of her devoted time and hard work, Diane received the St. Edmund Campion Parish award, and in March of 2022 was the church recipient of the St. Joseph Medal from the Archdiocese of Hartford.
Diane loved her dog and would often take him to area dog parks to meet friends and their owners. She loved music, singing and karaoke with family and friends. She liked traveling, especially her trips to Italy, Ireland, and Chicago with her family, and vacationing many summers at Lake Winnipesauke, NH. She was an avid fan of the New York Yankees, enjoyed gardening with her husband, and baking for her family and friends.
Along with her devoted husband Walter, she is survived by her daughter, Jessica Warner Brigantty and her husband Edwin of Weston, FL; her son, John C. Warner, V and his fiancée Jennifer Carl of Albany, IN; and her two adored grandsons, Dominic E. Brigantty and Adrian A. Brigantty both of Weston, FL. She also leaves her brother, James DiCarlo and his wife Carole of North Haven; two nieces, Kristin DiCarlo Liguori and her husband Joseph of Branford, Michelle DiCarlo Gray and her husband Dylan and their daughters, Charlotte, Sienna, and Olivia all of Cheshire; and several in-laws, dear friends and neighbors.
Funeral service will be Thursday (April 6, 2023) with a Liturgy of the Word at St. Christopher Church of St. Edmund Campion Parish, 538 Brewer Street, East Hartford. (Everyone is asked to please go directly to the church on Thursday morning). Burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery, (Section 3), East Main Street, Wallingford. Diane’s family will receive relatives and friends at the D’Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford on Wednesday (April 5, 2023) from 4:30 – 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Diane’s name may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Place West, Brookline, MA 02445.
