Delores “Lori” (DelRocco) Cichowicz, 88, of East Hartford, loving wife of over 56 years to the late Charles J. Cichowicz, peacefully went to join her husband in Heaven surrounded by her beloved family on Thursday, May 23, 2024 at her home. Born in Hartford on October 10, 1935, a daughter of the late Thomas W. and Rose Marie (Micalone) DelRocco, she had been a resident of East Hartford since 1963. Lori was a graduate of Bulkeley High School in Hartford, class of 1953. Prior to her retirement she was employed by CIGNA Insurance Company for over 30 years as an Account Representative.
A devout catholic, Lori was a long time communicant of St. Christopher Church, East Hartford. She was a talented ten-pin bowler who participated in leagues at the Hall of Fame Silver Lanes in East Hartford. She loved to travel with her husband, especially on cruises to Hawaii and the Bahamas. An animal lover, Lori received great joy from her dogs, Peaches and Bandit. During her retirement, Lori always looked forward to her weekly lunches with her two sisters, Mary and Janice. Most of all, Lori was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who cherished her time with her entire family.
Lori is survived by her caring son and daughter-in-law, Paul M. and Barbara Cichowicz of East Hartford; her daughter, Debra Cichowicz of Belgrade, Montana; three special grandchildren, Michael Cichowicz and his wife Miranda of East Hartford, Daniel Cichowicz of San Antonio, TX, Ashley Salerno and her husband Joseph of East Hartford; and five adored great-grandchildren, Hailiegh, Kyle, Madison, Alex, and Tyler. She also leaves a sister, Janice Pelletier of Enfield; many nieces, nephews, cousins, former co-workers, and dear friends. In addition to her husband and parents, Lori was predeceased by four sisters, Mary Tamiso of East Hartford, Patricia Trombley of Westerly, RI, Lucille Lyman of Winsted, and Phyllis Morris of Boca Raton, FL.
Funeral service will be Friday (May 31st) at 12 noon at the D’Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford. Burial will follow at Mount Saint Benedict Cemetery, (Section L), Bloomfield. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home chapel on Friday morning from 11 am to 12 pm.
