Carmine H. “Butch” Salvatore, 79, of East Hartford, loving husband of 60 years of Carol (Angelica) Salvatore, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at Manchester Memorial Hospital. Born in Hartford on February 28, 1943, a son of the late Enrico and Sara (Pressamarita) Salvatore, he had been a resident of East Hartford for the past 54 years. Prior to his retirement, Butch was employed for over 30 years by the Metropolitan Water District, retiring as an Inspector. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Peace Church and the former Blessed Sacrament Church both in East Hartford. Butch enjoyed fishing and traveling up to Lake Winnipesaukee, New Hampshire with family and friends, an annual trip he took for over 20 years. He was also a fan of the New England Patriots and liked playing cards with family and friends, and was a former tennis player.
In addition to his beloved wife, Carmine is survived by two sons, Carmine H. Salvatore, Jr. of East Hartford, Anthony D. Salvatore and his wife Kimberly of South Windsor; a brother, Henry Salvatore of East Hartford; two adored grandchildren, Angelina B. Salvatore and Anthony M. Salvatore both of South Windsor; several nieces, nephews, cousins, former co-workers, and dear friends. Besides his parents he was predeceased by three sisters, Connie Morelli of East Hartford, Shirley Salvatore of East Hartford, and Julie Preater of South Windsor.
Private funeral service and burial will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Carmine’s name may be made to a favorite charity of the donor’s choice.
