Camille Fidele Comeau

Camille F. Comeau, 89, of East Hartford, CT, passed peacefully at home on September 10, 2023 with his wife of 67 years, Cecile (Daigle) and his son, Daniel by his side. Born in St. Ignace, N.B., Canada, he was the 6th of 15 children born to Alphee and Eva (Barrieau) Comeau. He immigrated to the U.S with Cecile and grew a loving family of 5 children, Daniel (Janet) of Manchester, Denise (Kevin Flynn) of Charlotte, NC, James (Karen) of East Hartford, Mark (Debra) of Coventry and Annette (Brian Coughlin) of East Hartford, 9 grandchildren (Paul, Karrie, Valerie, Courtney, Gabrielle, Coleen, MaryClaire, Megan and Brianna) and 3 great grandchildren (Ryder, Wyatt, Levi). Camille was a devoted husband and family man who took great pride in a job well done. He worked as an auto body repair man, mostly for T&J Autobody, in East Hartford. His stellar craftsmanship extended beyond cars to almost any home improvement project. Camille will be remembered as a gentle and quiet man with kind blue eyes who loved country music (especially Gordon Lightfoot), card games and a good piece of fudge! In addition to his wife and their family, he leaves behind 4 sisters (Dina, Rose, Claudette and Marie), 2 brothers (Emery and Edmond), as well as many beloved in-laws, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 4 sisters (Julianna, Jeanne, Melina, Emma) and 4 brothers (Roger, Delphis, Gilles, Alphee).

Funeral service will be Monday (September 18th) with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 11 am at Our Lady of Peace Church (St. Edmond Campion Parish), 370 May Rd, East Hartford. Burial will be at a later date. Everyone is asked to please go directly to the church on Monday morning. Camille’s family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, (September 17th) from 3 - 6 pm at the D’Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford.
