Anthony H. “Tony” Martocci, 38, formerly of East Hartford, went to join his beloved mother Mary in heaven on Friday, November 11, 2022 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Born in Hartford on June 15, 1984, a son of Joseph M. Martocci, Sr. and the late Mary Gae (Stevens) Martocci, he had resided in the East Hartford area for most of his life. Tony attended St. Christopher School in East Hartford and graduated from Xavier High School in Middletown, class of 2002 where he was a member of the varsity football team. He was a licensed electrician and was employed by Horton Electric Company in Canton. He was an avid fan of college football (especially LSU Tigers) and of the New York Giants. Tony enjoyed fishing, golfing, and watching movies. Most of all, he was a proud uncle who loved spending time with his nephews and nieces and supporting them at their activities and sporting games.
Tony is survived by his father, Joseph M. Martocci, Sr. and his wife Jean of Conway, SC; two brothers, Joseph M. Martocci, Jr. and his wife Sara of Tolland, Mark J. Martocci and his wife Bethany of Portland; two nephews, Jackson and Mason Martocci both of Tolland; and two nieces, Emmary and Sienna Martocci both of Portland. He also leaves three step-sisters, Alicia Quagliaorli and her husband Anthony of Jupiter, FL, Carmen Rivas of Conway, SC, Tessa Rivas of Denver, CO; three step-nephews, Anthony, Dominic, and David Quagliaorli all of Jupiter, FL; two step-nieces, Aria and Lily Johnson both of Conway, SC; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.
Funeral service will be Friday (November 18, 2022) with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 am at St. Christopher Church of St. Edmund Campion Parish, 538 Brewer Street, East Hartford. Everyone is asked to please go directly to the church on Friday morning. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery, (Section 29), Hartford. Tony’s family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday (November 17, 2022) from 4–7 pm at the D’Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Tony’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
