Formerly of Glastonbury, CT, Anita graduated from Albertus Magnus College with a degree in Art Therapy and she also studied fine art at the Hartford Art School.
Anita worked as an art therapist at Cedarcrest Hospital in Newington, CT and the Connecticut Corrections Department.
Anita was a tireless advocate and volunteer who dedicated much of her time serving her community and underprivileged youth through art programs.
While residing in Glastonbury, Anita pursued her true passion in life, teaching arts and crafts to children. She taught privately and she taught classes through the Glastonbury Art Guild and the First Church of Christ. She was an accomplished fine artist. Her award winning oil paintings were exhibited extensively; she also was commissioned to paint many portraits.
Besides the arts, Anita had a keen interest in nutrition. She managed Nature Nook Natural Foods, formally in the Fox Run Mall in Glastonbury.
In her later years, she loved playing tennis and worked at the Glastonbury Tennis Club’s daycare center.
Most of all, Anita was a devoted mom and grandmother who loved spending time with her family.
Anita leaves behind her three children, Roy Scott and wife Laura Morris; Linda Braithwaite and husband Bruce; Tracye Scott and husband Phil Siena; and three grandchildren. Her cherished memory will live on in our hearts and of those she touched forever.
Donations in Anita’s name may be made to Seabury who gave her such loving care and Masonicare Partners Home Health & Hospice who also provided great care and support.
