Born in Boston on April 1, 1958, she was a 1976 graduate of East Boston High School and attended Brandeis University's Upward Bound Program and the University of Massachusetts.
Joyce began her professional career as a Flight Attendant for Eastern Airlines. She then worked as a Legislative Aide for former Boston City Councilor Diane Modica, as a realtor at Century 21 Joe Mario Real Estate of East Boston, and as a Paralegal for more than a decade.
Joyce had many loves in her life, she was an avid gardener and loved to travel and cook. She also found simple enjoyment taking photographs and shopping trips.
Joyce is survived by her beloved foster parents, Frances (Ippolito) and the late Gerard Riley of East Boston. She is the loving sister of Lawrence Love and his wife Dot, Paul Love and the late Donna, Patricia Love, Sharon Love, Thomas Love, Gail (Love) Martelli and her husband Mario, Deborah (Love) Smith and her husband David, John Love, Donna McBride, Deborah Riley and David Riley. Adored aunt of April, Tiffany, Debra, McKayla, Samantha, Sophia, Mario, Peter, Kirk, Lawrence Jr., Michael, Mia, Jennifer and Jill. Dear niece of Anthony Ippolito and his wife Jean, Annette Giordino and her husband Richard, Joyce Hopkins and her husband Miles, and Benny DiGregorio and his wife Rose. Also survived by many loving cousins and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Sacred Heart Church on the corner of Brooks & Paris Streets on Thursday, April 19, 2012 at 10 a.m. Joyce's family will be receiving visitors on Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Rapino Memorial Home, 9 Chelsea St. (Maverick Sq.) East Boston. Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden will follow the mass.
