Where do I start!  There are so many amazing memories we have created together. My favorite is being your roommate 😀 You are my favorite roomie and you ALWAYS will be.  You are so patient, kind, beautiful, and always know how to make people smile, even when I used to be cranky in the morning. Another memory that I love is watching you be the Queen of Dairy Queen. Working with your Nonni is not very common, and I got blessed enough to do that with you. You have taught me so many things that I will keep forever. I LOVE YOU NONNI!

I have such fond memories of birthdays spent together. One of the highlights of my birthdays growing up was getting to have a Dairy Queen ice cream cake for my birthday party! I remember one year when the ice cream cake got locked in the van and JoJo had to wiggle through the vented back window to rescue it. It was such a dramatic rescue! We all had a good laugh! This picture is from my 16th birthday. You and Uncle Wernie had given me the Walk the Line soundtrack and the Just Like Heaven movie. I loved both of them. The Walk the Line soundtrack became one of my favorite CDs. I had it memorized and I still listen to it to this day!

I loved going to Fort Myers to see my baseball team with you and then spending the rest of the week in Venice together! I always feel honored when you say that I look like Poppi!☀️⚾️👨👨

Nonni, you are such a beautiful person inside and out! We enjoyed having you at Jessica and Eric's wedding. I love looking at these pictures and the wedding video and seeing how much fun you seemed to be having. Your enthusiasm for and participation in family events is so nice to see. You genuinely care about everyone and are always so supportive and kind. I love being a recipient of your text messages! Even though we are miles apart, I feel the love you have through your ❤️'s and emoji's😊. We love you so much  ❤️🙏🏻😘

I think my earliest memory of Nonni was the day before Troy and Marcia’s wedding.  The Huber gals came to Martha Court to relax and prepare for the “big day.”  After Dawn’s exuberant (almost tearfully excited) visit to Marcia’s bedroom (“THIS IS MARCIA’S ROOM!!!”) we all decided to go to the neighbor’s built-in pool for some “tan time.”  Nonni was “all in!”   I smile every time I remember her coming to the pool…bright blue eyes, big mother-of-the-groom smile and...her hair in a plastic bag!  Needless to say, the extra hair care paid off…she looked especially BEAUTIFUL at the wedding and her hair was absolute PERFECTION!  That weekend God blessed our “big” family tree by adding a whole new branch…the Buffalo Hubers! ❤️❤️☀️❤️❤️

I love you so much. We are blessed to have you as part of our family. 
A memory that I will never forget is eating your amazing cookies. You make the best cookies and would leave them in the fridge for Laina and I. Somehow you always knew when Laina and I came over when you weren’t home. Later, we figured out that you saw cookie crumbs on the driveway. I loved spending time with you in Florida and seeing your beautiful face.

My favorite moment with Carol is when I found out she was my cousin and not my Aunt.  Unfortunately, it wasn’t until I was sixteen years old. ❤️❤️❤️

I love seeing Nonni’s bright, sparkling smile.  To match her sparkling personality, Nonni has the most beautiful jewelry collection.  I have always enjoyed listening to Nonni share the family history that goes with each special piece of jewelry she wears with love. 💎✨ 💎✨ 💎✨ 💎✨

On one trip to Buffalo with Marcia and Troy’s family—Nonni let Tonia go behind the counter to make an ice cream cone at Dairy Queen to see if she could still make the DQ curl!  Thanks for that memory, Nonni!”  AND “Having a full spread of lunch meat for sandwiches at 2 a.m. after arriving from Illinois.” 🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦

I loved swimming at Nonni’s house and playing in her backyard!  We had fun for hours and hours and literally stayed outside all day—swimming, playing games, and eating ice cream.

I have so many wonderful memories with you. You have been my Aunt Carol since I was 3 years old. We have shared birthdays, weddings, anniversaries and holidays together. I love your New Year’s Eve celebrations and the steal the package game. I also have such fond memories of swimming in your beautiful, beautiful pool. My dream growing up was to have a beautiful pool like yours. It was always so special to go swimming at your house. Lastly, we can’t forget our Election Day pork loin dinner’s together. Since Carol and Whitey only had one car, I offered to drive Whitey to work.  I would be sitting in the car in the middle of January freezing my buns off waiting for Whitey as he was making out with Carol by the door.  I kept trying to explain to Whitey that he wasn’t going off to war, but just to work for a few hours!  💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋

I’ll never forget the countless dance recitals that you flew to Chicago to come see👯‍♀‍- many of which happened to also fall on my birthday!🎂I remember when you and Laina came the weekend of my 10th birthday. When I woke up and made myself breakfast, you commented on how big I was getting by making oatmeal all by myself, and we laughed. Later on, Laina and I played a prank on you and Dad- we hid Laina in the trunk and I said that we accidentally left her at home. Dad of course fell for it, and we all started laughing. That same night, everyone started getting in the car to go to dinner. While Dad was driving, Laina told him that I was not in the car. Dad said, “Very funny” and you said, “Oh well she is 10 years old now and can make her own oatmeal.” A second later, I called upset on the phone that I was left behind at home…needless to say we probably shouldn’t have cried wolf earlier! I’m forever grateful for all the funny memories we made on your February trips out to Chicago!

I remember how you always went to my dance recitals. It meant so much to me! I would look for you in the crowd. And after I was so excited to see you. You always had a big smile on your face and a beautiful bouquet for me! You are so supportive and you care so much about me! You are the sweetest and I love you so much! 💐

When Todd and I would jump off the top of slide into the pool, you would yell out the sliding glass door, “Stop doing that you are going to get hurt!” One day, you came running toward the pool, and Todd got out of the pool and started running toward you. Then, you turned around and started running for the house, but Todd picked you up, carried you back to the pool, and threw you in! 💦 You were always trying to protect us and were a good sport! You are still able to put up with our shenanigans and I love you for it! 😋💚😋💚

I will forever remember our countless games of Euchre, Kings in the Corner, Bucket Head, and many more card games that gave us such quality time together.  Family time that we will never forget!  ♠️♦️♣️♥️

My friend from school has a middle name of Carol also. So, we always just call each other Carol!  I love that I was named after such a wonderful name sake! 
I love all of the texts you send and the souvenirs that you always brought home for us.  You are always so encouraging!  And I can’t forget the Valentine Day chocolates. YOU’RE THE BEST!

Some of my fondest memories are from the Florida House where we had our own special Nonni and Poppi time.  From Memory games, to Banangrams, to cards, to searching for sand dollars and making sandcastles, to swim lessons, to the Flea Market, to Philipe Creek, one memory was more special than the next!  One time we were watching the Olympics with you and you did not want to miss Michael Phelps swim, but we were in the middle of cards!  What to do?  Those silly boys had you running back and forth as they convinced you each time that you were missing him!  Thank you for each special memory.  You have taught us all how to stay strong and find joy in every day!  Love you!

A really cute story, while there's a lot of cute stories, (but some are too vivid, we don't to print), concerns corn. We were staying with your folks one time and they said they were going to have fresh corn for dinner and we thought that was just great cuz we hadn't had any lately. Turns out Whitey sat there and shucked about 3 bushels of corn. Well, we came home from somewhere and seriously that was all they were having for dinner was corn.  Corn, corn, and more corn!  Carol just kept cooking. We just kept wondering where the rest of the dinner was, but it was really funny at the time.  Hope you all and your family are safe and sound, love you!  🌽🌽🌽❤️❤️❤️

I have known Carol since our time at Buff State and being sisters in Delta Sig. Over the years I would run into her as I live in Lancaster. I remember one time meeting her in Super Duper at the D & L Plaza where she had a huge number of bananas in her cart. I was relieved when she told me they were for the Dairy Queen rather than her family. I couldn’t imagine any family eating that many! The last few years I would often meet up with her at DQ & we would ride together to the Delta lunches. I got to know how truly beautiful she is inside as well as out. I know this is a difficult time for all of you & feel the deep faith you all have will sustain you. The family is her pride & joy! My best to all.  🍌🍌🍌🍌🍌🍌🍌🍌

I remember well when Whitey taught Pastor Paul from India how to swim in their pool. Carol stood on the sidelines and cheered him on. 🏊

I have so many favorite memories and many fun times. 

We loved doing something special together around Christmas. 
Spent a few of those years visiting Reeds jewelers, making wish lists, trying diamonds on, having appetizers there with champagne.
Even a special lunch at Salvatore's Italian Garden.

My mom and dad liked to get together while she was in Florida. Birthdays are always a special celebration!!

A few years in a row Nonni stayed with us in St Augustine to watch Brent and JoJo place baseball. 
She would wear a winter coat...  It’s very hot outside - but I love it cold inside  So cold, she wore her coat inside.

We’ve been celebrating Joy’s and my birthdays together with Nonni for years!  Birthday festivities beach day at Cabana Sam’s! Lots of laughs, sun, beach, cold beverages, clams, crab legs, French fries...
She made me feel extra special on my special birthday celebration.

Thank you for being you!  Thank you Lord for sending Nonni into our family’s life.  You have had an impact on each one of our lives!😘💕

“ Memorable Moments”
1. We met - September 1958 - biology 
Our very first college class at 8 AM Monday morning. The professor seated us in alphabetical order, therefore after Dayton came Estes!! You were the first girl I met at college and have been a special friend since!
2. Our reunion - March 1-3, 2019
Carol flew into Tampa and drove over to Orlando to stay with me at my villa. We had a wonderful time visiting old college friends and going to the Holyland Experience. Carol has been a special blessing to me.


There was time during one summer where Nonni was losing food at a rapid rate. I’m pretty sure it was right around when fall sports started so lots of grandkids and others coming from practice to the pool hungry. So, Nonni created a sign in and sign out sheet on her door. You had to sign the sheet when you entered the house, list what you had to eat, and then sign out when you left. So, naturally nobody took it seriously and were signing names like Patrick Star. 

Favorite memory is soooooo hard to narrow down!!!! 
1. Telling Nonni we were expecting Rhett at her birthday party at our house
2. Aaron and myself playing pinochle every night for a whole summer with her and poppi, and they would drive us home late  
3. Going parasailing with her in Florida and that she’s just down for anything

Some of my favorite memories of her have been all of the birthday parties that we shared. She always treated me like I was her own grandson and I could always feel her love. That was always very special to me. Whether it was a birthday or a pool party at her house, I always associate her with a fun time and happiness with family. Even though Susana has only known her for a short while, she wanted to add that she could tell how special of a person Aunt Carol is. Aunt Carol made her feel so welcomed and loved at the New Years Eve party, which really meant a lot to her.

I loved having her teach me step by step how to make her strawberry rhubarb pie and apple pie ❤️

Even though Nonni always looks so beautiful, there are times when she’s so not afraid to have fun. One of Jared’s favorite memories is how Nonni would jump in the pool off the diving board the day before her hair appointment. We also loved to see her play egg roulette at Easter time 😂 She also was not afraid to let the kids splash around and soak her in the hot tub 😂 She’s the best❤️

Carol so many, many good memories. They all started with 2 ladies, my mother and your future mother-in-law Irene and continued for many, many years until Irene left to be with God. But before that, years passed and much happened. Irene got married, had a son, Werner, who was like a little brother to me. Time marched on, soon he went to Buff State and there he met the love of his life Carol. When they planned to get married I offered to have a bridal shower for Carol. I was thrilled to have her say yes. What fun it was! Carol had our two little daughters as flower girls, who were dressed in blue, Carol‘s favorite color.

Dear Dawn, Todd, Joy and Troy, I am so very sorry about your mother's passing. She was such an amazing woman and a second mother to me. I loved her very much. I hope it brings some peace to know she is reunited with your dad, another amazing person who I also loved. I realize this memory is late and hope you receive it. Dear Huber Family,

It was our honor and pleasure to know your lovely mom, Carol, since meeting her during a European tour in 2012.  Carol was traveling solo after losing her precious Whitey just 18 months prior.  We have so many wonderful memories of our time together during that fortuitous meeting.  Three years later, it was our good fortune to settle in Venice, Fl,  in a community within a 5 minute drive of The Plantation!  Over the following years, we enjoyed so many social outings whenever Carol spent time in her lovely Plantation villa.  We always looked forward to her visits and hearing all the latest news about her fabulous, and growing, family!  We feel like we know many of you from seeing all your family photos and hearing about the many family milestones.  We can't tell your how distressed we were when we heard the news in January about her ALS diagnosis.   We stayed in touch via text and had hoped to see her again in March but that was not meant to be.  We just want you to know how blessed we feel that our paths crossed back in 2012.  We must say that Carol was one of the most spiritual and positive people we've had the pleasure of knowing.  She was a beautiful woman inside and outside.  We will be forever grateful that she was a part of our lives even for a brief few years.  She will be missed but we are happy she is now with her beloved, Whitey.

  Carol became my dearest friend, “sister”,  aunt to our children and Godmother to our daughter. 
  She always glowed with her faith in the Lord and love for everyone. 
Carol lived each day with zest and joy.  She taught me much about patience, grace and gratitude.  Her mission was to bring smiles, tenderness, service, and assistance to anyone who needed her love, whatever their challenge. 
    Carol was a Precious Blessing to our world.

Carol's husband was invaluable to me when I started teaching at Amherst Junior High in 1972. At school gatherings in subsequent years, Carol was always at Whitey's side.  She was so  friendly, and easy to talk with  at these gatherings.  She always took a sincere interest in me and my family.  I will never forget her beautiful smile.  She enjoyed her life and her family  so much.  I am so sorry to hear that she departed from this life she so much enjoyed.

This amazing precious woman has touched so many lives and mine will be counted as one of them.  She cared and loved more than any I knew.  She always had her arms open for a true hug and loved straight from that huge heart she had.  Absolutely one of God's angels while on earth and now one as she has departed us for this time.  My heart is filled with sadness but if our dear Carol had to suffer anymore... I believe it would have been even sadder.  On the joy side of it all... she is dancing in the arms of Jesus. Sam and I cried through the photo tribute to Carol. Words are inadequate to describe how beautiful our friend Carol was. She made everyone feel so special and loved. She cherished her family and we loved hearing stories about each of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was so proud of each and every one of them. Her faith was an inspiration to us all. She showed us how to live and how to die, always with unwavering faith in her Lord. I feel happy that Carol is reunited with Whitey and in the arms of our savior. I’m selfishly sad not being able to see her on this earth anymore but as she said in one of her last texts to me, “I’ll see you in heaven!  Love you all”. Well Carol, we love you too. It was our honor to know you.
