Kate was a unique individual to work with at ATI. She was honest, intelligent, hardworking, dependable, loyal, productive, consistent, accurate, thorough, competent, a team player and always pleasant. 
Even when things were tough, Kate always had a smile. I thoroughly enjoyed my time working with her.
After her diagnosis, Kate fought hard to beat the terrible disease with smiles and optimism.  I hope she was example to all of us who knew her.
My sincere condolences go out to the Gentry and Smith families.

My earliest memory of Kate was in sixth grade. Her mom was welcoming yet another baby into the family and I remember we were in the hallway between the classrooms at Amherst Middle on the second floor. Each of our moms were there (it was a little bit of a competition who had more kids, the Oppenheimers or The Gentrys (spoiler: the Gentrys). Anyway someone suggested that I hold the baby so I did and of course the baby started crying. And Kate started laughing. The harder the baby cried the more Kate laughed. I’ll never forget that mixed sound of escalating crying and laughter. Our moms laughed. I had to laugh too. And Kate of course had a way of laughing that somehow made you in on the joke. She couldn’t even tease without being kind about it. Her smile and laugh will always be remembered by all who knew her. 

To Jeff and family, 

During my time working with you at Target I got a chance to meet your beautiful children and your most poised and beautiful wife Kate.  I am truly sending my deepest condolences to you and your family. May God continue to watch over you and your family and bring you peace.

Dear Jeff and the Gentry family,

It was a privilege to know Kate. Although her years here were cut short, her impact certainly wasn’t. Her love, grace, beauty, smile, grit, determination and optimism will never be forgotten. She was a ray of light that will shine even brighter through her children, Autumn & Graham.  My sympathy to you all during this very sad time & hope all the beautiful memories you have with Kate will help heal your heart. Kate has new superpowers now, Angel wings! I’m sure she will never leave your side and will support the family in ways you never thought possible.

Dear Jeff and family
We are so sorry for your loss.  Kate’s smile never seemed to dim. We will keep watch for all of the cardinals in the neighborhood  as a sign - as she visits and watches over you all.  We will keep you all in our prayers.  


Jeffrey and children - Rod and I are saddened and sorry for your loss.  I will remember the beautiful smile forever - Your wedding day was wonderful.
