John Morton Murray, Sr.

After a brief illness, John Morton Murray, Sr., age 91, of Amherst, New York, passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2024. He is survived by his wife Patricia of sixty-three years, three children, John, Jr. (Barbara Jo), Karen, and Jeffrey (Theresa), and four grandchildren, Natalie, Jack, Evan, and Julia. John Murray retired in 1998 as Vice President-Finance and Treasurer from American Precision Industries, and began his career as a Certified Public Accountant with Arthur Young & Company. John Murray served as Treasurer, Squadron Education Officer, and Celestial Navigation Chairman and Instructor of the Buffalo Power Squadron. John was also a Life Member and Past President and Director of the Buffalo Chapter of the Financial Executives Institute. John Murray attained the rank of 1stLieutenant in the Transportation Corps of the United States Army, where he served from 1955 to 1957, and continued in the Reserves until his honorable discharge in 1964. He was a 1955 graduate from the University of Virginia. John was a lifelong avid reader and lover of classical music. A private family service will be held.
