Virginia Miller, age 80 of 2003 South Elm Avenue, Dunn, passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at her home. She was born on August 11, 1938 in Sampson County, North Carolina to the late Luther Henry Jones and the late Alice Denning Jones. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husbands: Aaron Butler and James R. Miller; son: Thomas Linwood Butler; daughter: Susan Denise Butler; four sisters: Llewelyn Lee, Belinda Lee, Faye Hare and Prudence Maynard; brother: Luther Shelton Jones. She was a devoted Christian and a faithful member of Lee’s Grove Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church. She worked many years at the Benson Shirt Factory and later retired from Morganite after 20 years of dedicated service. Virginia was a phenomenal cook, her ten layer chocolate cake was arguably better than any in the country! She always loved when she could gather her entire family around the table and cook a feast fit for royalty! Whenever she would make her fluffy homemade biscuits, the race was on for the baby biscuit. Anyone who has ever eaten her chicken and pastry would tell you it just doesn’t get any better. After a long day of cooking and baking, Virginia could often be found sitting in front of her television watching a rousing game of Family Feud. Some of her families most treasured memories would be their many trips to the mountains with Ms. Virginia, especially to Pigeon Forge to shop and eat.
Virginia leaves behind to honor her memory, her daughter : Jennie Dorman; special niece: Donna McClenny and husband Cliff; six grandchildren: Amy Dorman, Aaron Dorman, Taylor Butler, Carlie Berriri and husband Mike, Jason Sherron and wife Candace, and Cindy Batten and husband Brent; eight great-grandchildren and daughter-in-law: Diane Ramsey and husband Noel.
